The Theory of Beauty

Writer's picture: Ayushi PandeyAyushi Pandey

How does it matter if you're younger or older?

Beauty lies in the eye, o' beholder,

Whatever be the age, whatever the state,

To experience beauty, you're never too late.

Dark, blue eyes deeper than the seas,

Fair, lovely cheeks that are softer than fleece,

Hair flowing down like a pretty mermaid's,

Hands so gentle, that touch never fades.

Dainty facial features, that capture everyone,

The colour of the hair that shines in the sun,

A petite figure with skinny, long limbs,

Girly, short dresses with bordered rims.

Are those good looks enough to create?

A worthy impression on the minds of the great?

There is so much more under that flesh,

A golden heart, that complex mesh.

Your nature and attitude is what counts most,

Not the disarming smiles or the fancy clothes,

You are what you are, accept the fact,

Don't exist for others, keep your beauty intact.

There's beauty all around, we just fail to perceive,

In the dry leaves too, if one can conceive,

Dive deeper, you're pretty, now see as a whole,

From your eyes; that window to the sparkling soul.

Yours poetically,
