An Ode to the Golden Sun

Writer's picture: Ayushi PandeyAyushi Pandey

It's a million miles apart from the living sphere,

In the day it appears quite bright and clear,

It spreads luminosity all around,

In its rays, a tender beauty is found.

It's more than hydrogen and helium,

It's a sign of hope, joy and delirium,

The heat it gives can't be compared,

To make life wondrous, no efforts it spared.

It's so important for life to persist,

Without its energy, plants can't exist,

The weather and its pattern are controlled by it,

Earth and its brothers are steady in orbits.

We can't pronounce the day if he's not here,

In the morning it comes, approaching near,

We can't call it a day unless he departs,

Briefly from the sky, he leaves a painted art.

The tree appears like a gilded lady,

The sun's the jewellery it wears daily,

The grass looks greener and fresh as dew,

It pours its secretion, spilling yellow hues.

Yes, when it's angry it sprays excess heat,

Causing sweat and fury to forcibly meet,

He has no mercy, that terrible sadist,

By giving us pain, he thinks he's the greatest.

One glance at it and the world seems positive,

Our faces illuminate, nothing looks negative,

We continue to feel its light and sharpness,

Lest Earth and the galaxy shroud in darkness.

Yours poetically,
