After the Sun Sets

Writer's picture: Ayushi PandeyAyushi Pandey

Sometimes I just look at the beautiful sky,

And imagine a rainbow and the birds that fly,

The winds that go howling and the trees that sway,

The plaint of the birds, all make up my day.

As the day bids adieu, and the evening says hello,

The sun sets and leaves behind a little speck of yellow,

The land becomes quieter and people go home,

Leaving the streets with no one to roam.

A deathly silence follows the evening,

Indicating that the birds have stopped chirping,

Of course the tranquil night dawns,

With the moon gazing at the lush green lawns.

The street lights are on and the people fast asleep,

Absorbed in their dreams, they jump and leap,

The stars and the moon, and the darkness all seems,

A whole wide family that proudly gleams.

Yours poetically,
