After the Sun Rises

Writer's picture: Ayushi PandeyAyushi Pandey

The moon was above in the night sky, Its friends, the stars, slowly sailed by, White and black in one single plane, The beautiful sky looks like a chess game.

The black pieces move apart to make way, For the sun, so that some colour it can lay, At dawn, now you will see something strange, As if various colours are mixed on a page.

This is an early sight that most people love, As it begins its ascent way up above, It drags itself after every few minutes, As the people of the world see warmth and hope in it.

Peacocks spread their feathers in the rainy days, Like them, the golden sun scatters its rays, Along with the sky, it's the land that brightens, By the window, as I wake up, my face too lightens.

Mankind rises, it's early morning, They peer through their eyes, lazily yawning, After praying to the Sun God and drinking some tea, They sit outside as the birds sing in glee.

Fitness freaks run and jog in the park, Activity starts buzzing, we're happy as a lark, It's the birth of a new, vitalising day, So start a new life and keep tears away.
